Voting Procedures for Jerusalem Residents PLC Elections 2006

Generally speaking, elections in Jerusalem take place according to the Israeli-Palestinian agreement that was signed in 1993. This agreement was the basis for the 1996 legislative elections and the 2005 presidential elections. With respect to the upcoming elections, the Palestinian and Israeli sides have agreed to open three centers in which the CEC can distribute voters’ cards which will enable Jerusalemites to vote.

It is worth mentioning that a number of voters' cards were distributed to each post office based on the capacity of each center. Following is the  list of centers where Jerusalem voters obtained the votes r' cards which enabled them to vote during the 2006 PLC elections.

1. Al Fata al Laji'a Secondary Girls School/ Jerusalem- Salah Addin Street

2. Al –Nithamiya Secondary Girls School/ Beit Hanina- Main Street

3. Abu Bakr al- Siddiq Girls School/ Jerusalem- Sur Bahir

It should be taken into consideration that voters who cannot obtain voters’ cards can vote in centers opened for this specific purpose, which are located in the Jerusalem suburbs as follows:
