CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir and CEO, Hisham Kuhail, visited today polling centers in Hizma/Jerusalem, to oversee the voting process which commenced at 7 am today.
Dr. Nasir met with polling staff and thanked them for their efforts and discipline towards completing the electoral process in integrity, transparency and professionalism and highly valued the procedures taken to facilitate the participation of persons with disabilities. Dr. Nasir also expressed hope that these elections would be a prelude to the return of democracy to all Palestinian institutions and to the hold of general elections in the coming period.
It should be indicated that polling centers in the localities where re-run local elections are being held will close at 7 pm today.
