The CEC announces the end of the 2019 annual voter registration campaign

Wednesday, March 20, 2019

The Central Election Commission (CEC) concluded today the 2019 annual voter registration campaign, which targeted mainly secondary school students in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Over 10 days, the CEC registered 65,271 students, representing 94% of secondary school students who reached the eligible registration age. New registrants were added to the voters’ registry which includes more than 2.1 million registrants.

In the coming days, the CEC will commence processing of new registration data which is expected to be completed by mid-April.

The CEC also announces that online registration is available throughout the year through CEC’s Website: www.elections.ps. A Palestinian holder of a Palestinian Identification card who is residing in Palestine or abroad and is seventeen years or above, and not registered may register electronically.

It should be indicated that voter registration is an annual exercise the CEC conducts to register high school students and cancel demises to keep an up-to- date and accurate voter registry ready for any electoral process.
